If a previous installation of RevEng exists on the target computer, uninstall it before you install a later version.

Install RevEng with the FARO InTouch installer.

About FARO InTouch

FARO InTouch is a software distribution and management application which streamlines downloading, installating, updating, and running FARO software. With an internet connection and the auto-update option enabled, you can automatically install the latest versions of your FARO applications without having to manually download and install the updates. You can also launch other FARO software applications from FARO InTouch.

FARO InTouch is only compatible with Microsoft® Windows® 10. When you install InTouch for the first time, uninstall any previous versions of RevEng via the Windows Control Panel prior to the installation. Then, you can reinstall RevEng from InTouch.

❷ Sidebar menu - Displays InTouch settings and options.

Application Operations From FARO InTouch

Each tile has an operation button. Click the arrow to select from available operation options.

Install

Install the application. Dependent applications are also installed.

Update

If a newer version is available, click to update the application. Dependent applications are also updated.

Run

Start the application.
Switch Switch to the application.

Uninstall

Uninstall the application.

Repair

If a software issue occurs that requires repair, click to repair the installation.

Depending on an application's status, some options may not be available.

Application Status

The colored bar in each tile below the application's icon indicates the application's installation status.

Status colors are as follows:

Light Blue: The application is not installed.

Green: The application is installed and available for use.

Red: The application is installed, but not available.

InTouch Sidebar

Click the Sidebar icon to open the sidebar.

InTouch Sidebar Settings

Configure the following InTouch settings:

Auto-Updates

Enable this option to automatically update installed applications when new versions become available.

If Auto-Update is not enabled and Update Notifications is enabled, InTouch application tiles notify you of available updates which you can manually install.

Update Notifications

When enabled, this option allows InTouch to generate Windows notifications when updates are available, installed, or if an issue is detected.

Repair Repository Files

Enable this option to allow InTouch to monitor the health of the repository files and automatically repair them as needed.

Heal Invalid Files

Enable this option to have InTouch monitor the health of the installed files and automatically heal invalid files.

Fix Orphan Files

Enable this option to have InTouch automatically fix files that have lost associations to other files.

Language

Select the language from the dropdown list.

This also changes the language of the installed applications.

InTouch Sidebar System Information

 

Service Status

Server - Connection status to the external server that FARO uses to store and distribute applications globally. Status colors are:

  • Green: InTouch can communicate with the server.

  • Red: InTouch cannot communicate with the server, typically due to internet connection issues.

Service - The InTouch service running on the local machine. Status colors are:

  • Green: The service is running normally.

  • Red: The service is not running or has stopped. When starting InTouch, this status can appear red for several minutes while the service starts.

Maintenance - An operation to verify that InTouch is running as expected, relating to the repair and healing options within Settings. Status colors are:

  • Green: The service is running normally.

  • Red: Maintenance in progress. When starting InTouch, this status can appear red for several minutes while the service starts.

Désinstallation de RevEng

Si vous installez une version mise à jour de RevEng, la sélection de l'option Nettoyer l'installation pendant l'installation supprime les instances précédentes de RevEng. Si vous devez désinstaller manuellement RevEng, suivez ces étapes :

1. Utilisez la fonction de recherche de Windows pour rechercher l'option Ajouter ou supprimer des programmes.

2. Désinstaller FARO RevEng.

3. Supprimez le dossier suivant : C:\Program Files\FARO\RevEng_(Version)
