The Fire tool (located on the Animation ribbon) includes multiple types of fire effects, smoke effects, and explosions. You can sync these effects to animations and adjust their sizes and densities. Choose from the following:

Fire Open fire
Torch Small controlled fire
Campfire Medium controlled fire
Fireplace Medium indoor controlled fire
House Fire Large uncontrolled fire
Skyscraper Fire Massive uncontrolled fire
Smoke Smoke only
Explosion Dome Ground explosion
Explosion Sphere Air explosion

To add a fire or explosion in the diagram:

  1. From the Animation or VR/Enviro ribbon, select one of the following:

    • Select the Fire tool and choose the desired fire effect.

      OR

    • Select either Explosion Dome or Explosion Sphere.

  2. Click in the diagram to place the fire or explosion.

  3. Use the grips to move and adjust the size of the fire or explosion.

  4. Configure options in the Fire or Explosion tool panel.

Fire|Explosion Tool Panel

Color Choose the color of the fire from the color palette.
Layer Manager Open the Layer Manager to choose the layer for the object.
X, Y, Z axes Reposition the center of the fire or explosion along the axes.
Fire Base Length Adjust the length of the fire.
Fire Base Width Adjust the width of the fire.
Fire Height Adjust the height of the fire.
Start Time Offset
Sync Assign a sync number at which the fire should appear. For example, you can sync a fire with the collision point of a vehicle crash animation. Enter a Sync Wait Time to delay the fire or explosion.
Particle Size Adjust the size of the embers at the base of the fire.
Light Intensity

Adjust the amount of color and light emitted by the fire.

Freeze Fires constantly regenerate particles that have their own birth rates, lifespans, and other options. Freezing the display of the fire improves application performance. This is especially useful for bigger fires, and for drawings that include multiple fires. In drawings with multiple fires, you can specify the behavior of each fire.
Show Smoke

Show/hide the smoke.

Show Bounds

Show a bounding box which you can use to scale and position the fire in the drawing.
