You can select symbols, models, and commands as favorites which you can quickly access and reuse. The favorites that you add in a drawing remain in the Favorites panel when you create new drawings.
You can also select from existing Favorites toolbars, create new toolbars, or edit existing toolbars.
To open the Favorites tool:
1. From the Home ribbon, click the Workflow dropdown.
2. Select the Favorites button. The Favorites dialog displays.
You can select the following symbols as favorites:

3D symbols
-
2D symbols
-
Signs (standard and custom)
-
Tools (Commands)

Selecting a symbol as a favorite
You can add a symbol as a favorite by doing one of the following:
From the symbol library |
Right-click a symbol's icon and click Add to Favorites.

From a symbol search |
Right-click the symbol and click Add to Favorites.

From the tool panel |
Click the Favorite icon.
|
Open Favorites from the Symbols ribbon, from the quickbar, or by clicking <F8>.
Using Favorites categories
Favorites are categorized by type. Use the categories on the left side of the panel to view the symbols assigned as favorites. If you decrease the size of the panel, the types appear across the top.
Categories include:

Signs (standard and custom)

Tools (Commands)
Favorites History
Symbols that you add to the drawing appear in the History category. The most recently-added symbol appears at the beginning of the list.
You can add a symbol from History by right-clicking it and selecting Add to Favorites from the context menu. The symbol is added to the open Favorites toolbar (the Zone toolbar, or a custom toolbar).
Pinning Favorites
You can pin symbols that you use frequently so that they appear at the beginning of the list. Pinned symbols appear with a pin icon.
To unpin a favorite, right-click the favorite and select Unpin.
Removing Favorites
To remove a symbol or tool, right click the item and select Remove.
Creating Custom Toolbars With Favorites
You can create custom toolbars that include symbols and commands that you frequently need for a task. For example, if you are drawing roads, you can add draw tools, smart roads, signs, and other commands to quickly access things that you will re-use often.
To create a new custom toolbar:
1. From the upper-right corner of the Favorites panel, click Toolbars.
2. Click New Custom Toolbar.
3. Enter a name for the toolbar and click Ok.
4. Find 3D symbols, 2D symbols, signs, and tools (commands) that you want to add to the toolbar. Right-click the object, and select Add to Favorites from the context menu.
If you have a previous drawing that contains symbols that you'd like to use for creating a custom toolbar, you can load the drawing and select the favorites from that drawing.
5. If you want to reorganize tools (or any symbols) in the display, right-click a tool or symbol and select Move to top.
Selecting Custom Toolbars
To select custom toolbars:
1. From the upper-right corner of the Favorites panel, click Toolbars.
2. Select the custom toolbar from the list.
3. When the custom toolbar is open, you can add/remove symbols, commands, etc.
Sharing and Loading Favorite Custom Toolbars
You can share custom toolbars that you create with others.
To share a custom toolbar:
1. Click to the Toolbar menu and select Edit Toolbars.
2. Click Folder.
3. Share the .XML file with other FARO Zone 3D users.
To load a custom toolbar:
1. Click to the Toolbar menu and select Load Toolbar.
2. Locate the toolbar and click Ok.
The toolbar. xml file is copied to the user folder.
