Printing

FARO Zone 3D provides a number of options for printing images ranging from snapshots to full reports.

Print Options from the File Menu

The Print option on the File menu opens the Print Preview screen.

Printing from the Quick Bar

Print offers a convenient way to access the print function.

Print Form located on the Quick Bar, and on the pull-down menu. This tool recognizes that your drawing includes a form from the Forms tool.

You can scale and rotate the drawing inside the form without changing the form's size or position. The form displays in the print window, regardless of the drawing scale and rotation.

The Print Preview Window

Click either Print command to open the Print Preview window.

Print command	Make the desired selections, then click the Print command to send the file to the selected printer.
PDF	Create a PDF of the report (can also be done from the Select Printer drop-down).
Select Printer	Click the drop-down arrow to select from available printers.
Paper Size	Click the drop-down arrow to select the paper size.
Page	Choose Fit to Paper or Use Scale. Enter a value for scaling if Use Scale is selected. Enter the number of copies.
Rotate	Rotate the drawing on the page prior to printing. You can select 90 degree increments, or enter a specific value.
Portrait or Landscape	Select the desired format.
Print Selected	Select a portion of the diagram before you start the Print command. Check this option to print only the selected portion.
Adjust Text	Select either text quality or the precision of its position. If text appears out of place in (in print or pdf), enable this option.
Print Preview Pane	Preview the print document.

You can also use the scroll wheel on the mouse to change the scale in the Print Preview window.
