Vehicle Spec Database
The Vehicle Spec Database provides accurate factory values for vehicle size, weight, wheelbase, and track width.
You can also easily add vehicle specs to a model (for vehicles that support it).
To research a vehicle:
-
From the Power Tools ribbon, click the Vehicle Spec Database tool. The Vehicle Database dialog displays.
-
Choose the CVS (Canadian Vehicle Specs) or AutoStats database.
-
Enter the year and make of the vehicle, and then click Search.
If data is missing from the database, the Model row highlights in orange. Try comparing the data with the other database. If the specs do not include front and rear overhang data, the vehicle outline does not display the wheel positions.
-
Select whether to show Center of Gravity, Wheel Base, and Wheel Centers.
-
Take note of values or click Place to insert the vehicle into the scene.
Applying Vehicle Specs From the Vehicle Spec Database to a Model
To match a selected model to the Vehicle Specs Database, do one of the following:
-
Right-click the vehicle and select Vehicle Specs from the context menu.
-
From the Model tool panel, under the Tools dropdown, select Vehicle Specs.
The Vehicle Database panel opens with all of the information for the vehicle. If the data looks accurate, click Apply and Close.
