FARO Laser Line Probe

The FARO Laser Line Probe (LLP) is a non-contact probe that collects digitized points using a line of projected laser light and a camera. The laser light is projected onto your part as a line, the camera takes a picture of the shape and position of the line, and several points are then sent to the computer. This is done many times in a second to quickly measure curved surfaces, or surfaces that can not be measured using a standard ball probe.

The FARO only connects to a 7-Axis Quantum Max.

There are four models of the FARO :

FARO Blu xE*: An entry-level, reduced performance model.

*Not available in North America.

Computer Requirements

The FARO will generate thousands of points in a short amount of scanning time. For best results, your computer must have a powerful Central Processing Unit (CPU) and a large amount of Random Access Memory (RAM). FARO recommends the following:

CPU - Intel® i7 with 4 Cores (Quad Core)

RAM - 16GB minimum, 64 GB recommended

When using the Laser Line Probe, connect the Quantum Max to the computer using the USB cable. However, in ideal conditions, Ethernet and WLAN can support the data rates of the LLP.
