ISO 10360-12 Standard

The ISO 10360-12 standard requires four probing and one distance test. The tests results are an error and each test has a Maximum Permissible Error (MPE) The extreme value of measurement error, with respect to a known reference quantity value, permitted by specifications or regulations for a given measurement, measuring instrument, or measuring system..

	SPAT - Single Point Articulation Test. The operator seats the Quantum probe in a hole and measures points while moving the joints. The error is the greatest distance between any two points.
	PSize - Sphere Probing Size Error. The operator measures a sphere with the Quantum probe. The error is the difference between the measure and actual diameter of the sphere.
	PForm - Sphere Probing Form Error. The operator measures a sphere with the Quantum probe. The error is maximum distance of any point from the best-fit sphere.
	LDia - Sphere Location Diameter Error. The operator measures a sphere with the Quantum probe from multiple orientations. The error is the diameter of the spherical zone containing the centers of the measured spheres.
	EUni - Unilateral Distance Error. The operator measures two spheres, or two points, with the Quantum probe. The error is the difference between the measure and actual length between the spheres or points.

Annex D of the ISO 10360-8 standard requires one distance test. The test result is an error and has a Maximum Permissible Error (MPE).

LDia - Sphere Location Diameter Error. The operator measures a sphere with the Quantum probe from multiple orientations. The error is the diameter of the spherical zone containing the centers of the measured spheres.
