Point Cloud Model

You can create a movable model that you can animate, sync, and recreate damage from a point cloud selection saved from a clipping box.

The model is limited to a maximum of two million points.

Create a point cloud model

To create a point cloud model:

  1. Import a point cloud into the drawing.

  2. Use a clipping box to isolate the area of the point cloud from which to create the model.

  3. Click Create Model on the Clipping Box tool panel.

  4. Name and save the point cloud model. The file type is .fzpcm.

Place a Point Cloud Model

You can place a point cloud model in any drawing for animation or reference purposes.

To place a point cloud model:

  1. Click the Point Cloud Model command on the Point Cloud ribbon.

  2. Click the Place a Point Cloud Model command.

    Select Clipbox and Create a Point Cloud Model commands are prompts for the work flow. They do not perform the functions.

  3. Navigate to and double-click the desired Point Cloud Model.

  4. Click in the scene to place the model and click again to orient it.
