USB

USBClosed Universal Serial Bus (USB) is an industry standard that establishes specifications for cables and connectors and protocols for connection, communication and power supply (interfacing) between computers, peripherals and other computers. communication connects from the Quantum to the computer using a standard USB cable. High speed operation is supported.

The USB connector is located on the back side of the base.

Ethernet

EthernetClosed Ethernet is a family of computer networking technologies commonly used in local area networks (LAN), metropolitan area networks (MAN) and wide area networks (WAN). communication connects from the Quantum to the computer using a regular or crossover twisted-pair Ethernet cable (Cat 5, Cat5e or Cat 6) with RJ-45 connectors. When Ethernet is used the Quantum is configured as a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) client.

The Ethernet connector is located on the back side of the base.

In a multiple computer networking environment, you should consult your Information Technology (IT) department for assistance with installing the Quantum.

After connecting the Quantum to the computer, start the FaroArm Manager program and choose Ethernet in the Devices group.
