A is a list of general permissions within a workspace. Members (users and teams) with workspace roles have access to more features in Sphere XG than members with project roles. This also means that they can use and/or view more Sphere XG features.
This topic only contains general role descriptions. See Overview of Roles and Permissions on the Workspace and Project Level for a table overview of role-specific permissions.
The following workspace roles are available in Sphere XG:
-
Workspace Admin
-
Workspace Viewer
-
Group Manager
-
Group Viewer
-
Project Manager
Users and teams can have more than one workspace and project role. For example, a Group Manager may also be Project Admin in the same workspace or another workspace.
Workspace Admin Role
A workspace may have more than one Workspace Admin. This role has the most extensive permissions in Sphere XG. The workspace admin can edit the workspace settings, establish SSO, and manages projects, groups and members.
Workspace Viewer Role
The main difference to the Workspace Admin role is that the Workspace Viewer has only viewing access.
Group Manager Role
Group managers are responsible for their group as well as the projects and members in their group. In Sphere XG, the group manages the project access. Each group has one or more Group Managers.
Group Viewer Role
Group viewers can view the active projects of their group.
Project Manager Role
Despite the name, the Project Manager is a role at group level and not at a project level. Project Managers can be assigned to more than one group with different Group Managers. Project Managers are responsible for the projects that are assigned to them and the members assigned to these projects.
