In this chapter, you will find the terms layer, sheet, overview map and floor plan. These terms are used as follows:
-
A layer is a concept in Sphere XG describing the fact that you can overlay and align sheets, i.e. 2D plans, layouts and schematics. In the views setting toolbar, you can select which layer you want to see. For more information, see Add, Edit or Delete Layers in Existing Projects.
-
A sheet is a 2D image that can be used to get an overview of an area. It is created by users, software or a CAD system. A sheet may include text, a legend and scale information.
-
An overview map is a top view generated from a scan dataset uploaded to Sphere XG. This is automatically created when uploading scan data to Sphere XG via Stream or SCENE.
-
A floor plan is a top-view plan of a building's layout including walls, windows, doors and other structural elements. Used by architects, engineers, etc. to visualize the spatial layout of the building.
